Mr Ian Beech

Mr Ian Beech trained as a Podiatrist in Plymouth qualifying 1986, working first in Hillingdon covering community clinics as well as Hospital clinics at Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon.  He commenced Podiatric Surgical training at Hillingdon and then later West Middlesex University Hospital, completing his Fellowship in 2001.  Ian has published papers on lesser metatarsal osteotomies and neuroma.  

Shortly after this Ian then took a year’s break from NHS work and travelled to Nepal working for the Nepal Leprosy Trust, he remains a Trustee for this charity.  On completing his CCPST Ian took his first Consultant role in Greenwich working at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Greenwich Teaching Primary Care NHS Trust.

Ian now works as Consultant Podiatric Surgeon for St Georges University Hospital NHS Trust based at Queen Mary’s Roehampton. This is a busy NHS role managing a variety of foot and ankle complaints, working with many other disciplines including  MSK Podiatry Diabetes Podiatry, Physiotherapy Rheumatology, Vascular Specialists and Orthopaedics.  

Ian Successfully completed his Non medial Prescribing at South Bank University Hospital in 2015. He held the Chair post for the Southern Region for Faculty of Podiatric Surgery for 5 years, successfully helping trainees progress and facilitate local training meetings.  

Clinical interests include hallux valgus (Bunions), Hallux rigidus (painful big toe joints), neuroma and soft tissue lumps in the foot.  Treatments offered include conservative care, orthotic/insole management, injection therapy including corsticosteroid and Ostenil for joint pain, through to surgical management.
